Hello everyone,
Today, I present to you the project for the adaptation and improvement of municipal premises (Workshop School) in Cuevas de San Marcos (Málaga).
The Workshop School consists of two spaces. Previously, one of them was used as a training center with refurbished adjacent areas, and another space was used as a warehouse, which is now being worked on. This warehouse is not in good condition, and its renovation is planned to enhance it, along with connecting it to the adjacent training center.
The project was initiated in 2020 and was designed by RBM Architecture Studio, led by architect Raúl Benítez Molina.
The space had not undergone any renovations since its construction as a Workshop School warehouse, where various construction professions were taught (masonry, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
Various actions are being carried out in the space, including roof replacement, creating a direct connection to the adjacent training center, soundproofing, improvement of sanitation, plumbing, and electrical installations, creating new openings for natural light, among others.
The main idea was to enhance the interior facilities to accommodate new uses.
This is the current appearance. The first phase involved its rehabilitation to accommodate other uses, such as the current one, as a museum, for example.
Best regards.
Raúl Benítez.
